Yampa Canyon and the Sacred Confluences
Watercolor, 52x18, 2025 ︎︎
A piece exploring the ecology of the Yampa Canyon and the sacredness of river confluences. As the last free flowing river in the Colorado river system, her waters nourish ecosystems that are rare in regulated rivers. Cottonwood galleries, healthy riparian corridors, and endangered fish, birds, and plant life flourish around the Yampa. These lands and rivers are historic sacred homelands for the Ute and Shoshone peoples.
